Lesson 4 of 6
Track 2 · Lesson 4
Planning a trip or outing
Whether you are planning a day out, a visit to family, or a longer holiday — AI can help you think through the details, find ideas, and put together a simple plan. It is like having a patient travel companion who knows everything.
You do not have to plan everything yourself. Tell the AI where you want to go and what matters to you, and it will help you build a plan step by step.
Describe your trip in plain words
Start by telling the AI the basics — where, when, and who is going. For example: "I want to visit my daughter in Kuala Lumpur for a week in July. I am travelling alone and I prefer comfortable, easy trips." That is enough to get started.
- I am planning a trip to [place] for [how long] in [month]. I am travelling [alone/with family] and I prefer [relaxed/active/budget/comfortable]. Can you help me plan it?
Your template — fill in the details.
Ask for specific help
Once you have a basic plan, you can ask the AI to go deeper on any part. What to see, what to avoid, what to pack, how to get around, where to eat, what the weather will be like.
- What are the best things to do there for someone my age?
- What should I pack for a [type of trip]?
- Can you suggest easy, comfortable places to eat near [area]?
Ask it to write the plan out clearly
When you are happy with the ideas, ask the AI to write it all out as a clear day-by-day plan you can print and keep with you. A printed plan is very useful when you are travelling and may not have internet access.
- Can you write this out as a simple day-by-day plan I can print? Keep it clear and easy to follow.
AI gives good general suggestions but always verify important details — opening hours, transport times, and prices change. Check with official websites or call ahead for anything critical.
Your turn
Practice with Iris
Tell Iris about a trip you are thinking about — even just a day out locally. Ask her to help you plan it.
